Good Farm Foods...for you...
grow in your kitchen...or outdoors...or pick the wild edibles such as dandelions.
(Dandlions have more vitamin C than lettuce). Note: Eat only those wild edibles that are 100% identifiable by you.

To grow sprouts in your kitchen:

Needed:
1. A plastic container, such as an empty parmesean cheese container. Save the lid.
2. A screen, such as a square cut (about 6 X 6 inches) of plastic screening from the hardware store.
3. A rubber band to hold the screen on the top.
4. The seeds. Wheat berries or Red Clover seed are good in your salads. Many others can be used.

Directions:
1. Place the seeds - about 1 teaspoon (red clover) or 2 Tablespoons (wheat) in the container. Fill with water. Cover with screen and use rubber band to hold in place. Soak over night.
2. The next morning, drain out the water, rinse seeds, and drain out the water.
3. Place container upside down on sink or in drain board. 'stand' the upside down container on the open lid (open let's the water drain out into the sink.)
4. The next morning repeat. Repeat rinse and drain until the sprouts have greened up and are ready to use.

Note: For wheat sprouts, use a piece of plastic screening cut to fit a large dinner plate. When the wheat has sprouted, spread the sprouts on the screen. Water each day by passing screen through running faucet water. Drain & return to plate until wheat grass is 3-4 inches tall. Cut with sissors. Use in salads. Enjoy.
